Green light for Bruno Peyron and team awaiting weather window for Atlantic record 15/6/06

The latest weather charts are beginning to look optimistic for Bruno Peyron and team awaiting a weather window for the North Atlantic record attempt. And if all goes to plan they could set sail aboard the 120ft maxicat Orange 2 by the end of the week. The skipper is currently gathering his troops together for a possible start on 18 June.

The members of the shore-based weather team seem confident and confirm that the window of opportunity they have been watching looks very good, even if there is still a little uncertainty for the final stretch of the voyage.

They now have to watch closely how the forecasts evolve, as they are relying on the weakening of a ridge over the Western Approaches and Ireland.
