The Whitbread/America's Cup navigator has now repaired his rudder

Andrew Cape set off this morning to rejoin the first leg of the Mini-Transat at 0745 GMT today (Friday) from La Trinite-sur-Mer having fixed the problems he encountered with the rudder on Aberdeen Asset Management. Andrew has spent the past 24 hours in the port after breaking his rudder box and runners just two days into the race.

Before he left Andrew said, “I’m looking forward to getting out there again. I spent last night checking the weather patterns and this morning is the time to go. I’m glad to be back in the race again.”

Andrew is anticipating this first leg to Lanzarote to take between nine and ten days.
