The inaugural Laser simulator national championship qualifying events take place this weekend (3-4 November) at Hayling Island and Rutland SCs. Using the Virtual Sailing Laser Simulator competitors are challenged around a trapezoid course in a set of standard conditions, pre set into the operating computer. At the end of each one-lap race competitors are awarded a time. From the qualifying rounds the top 200 sailors will be invited to the finals at the London Boat Show 2002, where head to head racing will take place to decide the winners of the top prizes.

Saturday’s Holt-sponsored qualifying event is at Hayling Island SC with a start time of 1300, while on Sunday the simulator moves to Rutland SC, also with a start time of 1300. For more information visit the Laser Coach section of www.lasersailing.com
