The final race of the Laser European championship was sailed today (Saturday 25 August). The title of Laser European champion was awarded to Maciej Grabowski of Poland, who finished off the regatta by scoring a second place. Peer Moberg who had been leading at the beginning of the event, finished seventh in today’s race to put him in second place overall.

The third place position is currently been fought over in the protest room, Britain’s Paul Goodison, went out today and won the race, but was then been protested by the race committee for a collision with a mark. If his first place doesn’t get discarded he will move up into a bronze medal position, if it does, it will be the Swedish sailor, Fredrik Lassenius that takes the Bronze and Goodison will finish in fourth place.

The Youth class title was taken by Volvo RYA Youth Squad sailor Tim Hulse who, despite breaking his tiller, still managed to have enough of an overall lead to take the title from Luka Radelic of Croatia.
