Round 5 of the Laser Direct Millennium Series saw 19 Laser 2000s converging on Herne Bay at the weekend; an excellent turnout considering the not insignificant distractions of the Lions Test, Wimbledon Finals, Live 8 and the French Grand Prix.

The home club gave all a warm welcome and it was particularly pleasing to see a line of local 2000s with covers off and crews eager to prove that the combination of local knowledge and a recent coaching session by the 2004 National Champion Skip Atkins would give the visitors something to think about.
