Kingfisher has, this evening, finished the second and final leg of the Regata Rubicon in fourth position

Kingfisher has, this evening, finished the second and final leg of the Regata Rubicon in fourth position behind Sill, Bobst and Temenos and secured third overall. Sill once again dominated the final miles beating in Bobst by two hours and 40 minutes.

Nick Moloney, co-skipper for Leg 2 commented: “Naturally we’re a bit disappointed not to have stayed with the leaders on this leg, but happy to have still secured third overall. We’ve also put the boat through a very wide range of conditions, and have made some great progress for Ellen in terms of preparation for the Route du Rhum.”

Kingfisher will now head back as fast as possible towards UK waters, hopefully in time for the Round the Island (Isle of Wight) race on 22 June where Ellen MacArthur will take the helm.
