New face at Clipper Ventures, and growing hope of a March restart to the race 8/3/06

Clipper Ventures has announced the resignation of their finance director and company secretary, Jeremy Knight.

He has been replaced by Jeff Berry, a former corporate finance partner with accountants Baker Tilly.

In a statement, Clipper Ventures’ chairman Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, commented: “The board would like to thank Jeremy for the contribution he has made to the company in the last four years both as finance director and in other aspects of the business, and wishes him well with his future ventures. The board welcomes Jeff who will bring a wealth of experience, with his understanding of both corporate finance and sports related businesses.”

Meanwhile, in Subic Bay, in the Philippines, progress continues on the repair of the 10-strong Clipper fleet. There is now a workforce of 81 people putting in an estimated 1,000 man hours a day, and there is growing hope that it might be possible to complete the repairs and have the yachts surveyed in time for a restart before the end of March.
