Come and try sailing at this Saturday's open day at Chipstead Sailing Club in Kent 24/4/07

Following the success of last year’s event, Chipstead Sailing Club in Sevenoaks, Kent is staging an open day this Saturday, 28 April.

The event is designed to not only attract newcomers to the club but to give them the opportunity to experience dinghy sailing at one of the country’s most active inland sailing clubs.

During this Saturday’s event some of the club’s most experienced helmsmen and sailing instructors will be on hand to take out family groups or individuals in a selection of club boats.

As well as the active fleet of singlehanders including Optimists, Toppers and Lasers Chipstead Sailing is home to a flourishing fleet of Herons, Graduates and Scorpions.

There will also be a chance to sign up for one of the club’s regular RYA lean-to-sail training courses which are held throughout the year for juniors and adults. For those keen on taking up the sport, a local chandler will be available throughout the day to give advice on suitable gear. There will also be a display of sailing clothing including different types of buoyancy aids.

Chipstead Sailing Club is situated in Chipstead Village, near Dunton Green, Sevenoaks, Kent. Maps and further information can be found at www.chipsteadsc.org.uk
