The Transat Jacques Vabre 60ft trimarans are planning for their 1000 start tomorrow

If the weather forecast for tomorrow (Wednesday) – moderate south-westerly winds of 15-20 knots and a two metre swell – holds, the restart for the Transat Jacques Vabre 60ft trimarans, scheduled for 1000 (French time) should be relatively tame.

The new restart also brings changes to the route: the boats will not have to pass the Ascension Islands as a mark and so the multihulls have now the same mileage and course as the monohulls, 4,340 miles.

A skippers’ briefing is scheduled for this afternoon (Tuesday) at 1700 for a final weather check.
