A total of 103 boats took part in Redgreen Bangor Week on Belfast Lough

Redgreen Bangor Week on Belfast Lough took place earlier this month and was supported by competitors from all corners of the British Isles, and for the first time there was racing for dinghies. A total of 103 boats took part.

The weather was fickle, the winds were sometimes non existent, but five race officers managed to run all but two races.

A top class performance by Paul Scutt in the Sigma 33 Carmen from Helensburgh earned him and his crew the Town Cup, a prestigious trophy presented by the Bangor Chamber of Commerce for the boat judged to have given the best overall performance of the week.

Other special prizes went to the top Under 35, won by Gareth Flannigan in a Laser SB3 and the Under 25 helmsman prize was awarded to Robert Espey in the 49er fleet.
