Following a disappointing start on Thursday, when the racing was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, the Hackett International Etchells Class National and British open championship 2000 ended on Saturday.

Racing in their brand-new Etchells – GBR 1180 Fuzzy Duck IV – Paul Woodman, Christopher Proudlove and Malcolm Ford won the event beating last year’s winner GBR138 Katemba helmed by Tim Law with crew Marc Spruce and Steve Girling. Third place went to GBR1173 ‘007 helmed by Eddie Warwick with crew Mike Sparks and John Howe. BarryDunning, James Rock and Charles Roberts came fourth sailing GBR958 Roc.
