Are you in the market for a production family cruiser of around 37-38ft? There has been a dearth of new models in this range during the last few years, but suddenly this part of the market has sparked back into life with a new and exciting group of family cruisers.

In early June, we will be going aboard the Bavaria 37, Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 379, Beneteau Oceanis 38, Dufour 380 and Hanse 385 (pictured above) and putting them to the test along the UK south coast during a three-day boat test rally.

Those of you with long memories and/or an extensive back catalogue of Yachting Worlds of yore may remember our annual (and once upon a time long-running) ‘one of a kind’ rallies. This will be a revival of that formula, where pit similar boats against each other on a proper short cruise, live on board and see what they have to offer buyers.

We’ll be looking at everything from build quality to performance, price and value and we’d value your perspectives too.
