Hunger and Jess expand lead at 505 worlds with two days to go

Two-time world champions Wolfgang Hunger and Holger Jess (GER) made a big step towards their third title in the CSC 505 worlds in Warnemünde yesterday.

In medium north-westerly winds, they collected two bullets while some of their fiercest competitors made their biggest mistakes. Kellner/Stammerjohann (GER) and Martin/Falsone (USA) lost their chances for the title with a 50th and a 31st place in the fifth race.

Ivey/Illidge (USA) defended their second place with two more top 10 finishes. Saugmann/Ramsbaek kept on gaining with a fourth and a second place. Both 20 points behind the leader, these two teams hang in there, waiting for Hunger/Jess to make another mistake. Two races are scheduled for today, the last race is to be held on Friday.
