This week Mike Golding received two more awards for bravery following his rescue of Alex Thomson last year. On Tuesday it was the Emile Robin Award from the Shipwrecked Mariners Society (that’s the charity that used to have collecting mines at almost every seaside resort).

Then on Wednesday Golding was given the Thomas Gray Memorial Trust Silver Medal from the Marine Society, making it a total of one OBE and three medals in a year.
