The year was 1979, the location the Solent and strangely enough the personage in question is still quite recognisable - it's something about the back of that head.
This is a youthful Prince Charles having a go at windsurfing. It was all the rage back then as the French company Dufour Wing fostered a new thrill-seeking generation of sailors with the Tabur, F2 and Mistral.
