Monday at Skandia Cowes Week

Following some glorious opening weather over the weekend, the clouds are starting to home in on Cowes and there are a few more sailors arriving at the Yacht Haven this morning in full wet-weather gear. The forecast this morning reveals some unwelcome 'squally showers'. Not only are they unpleasant to sail in, but their unpredictability out on the water is one more obstacle for the Skandia competitors to contend with.

Wind

06:00-09:00 W (10-15 knots)
09:00-12:00 W-SW (10-15 knots)
12:00-15:00 SW (13-18 knots, occasionally 20 knots)
15:00-18:00 SW (15-20 knots)

There is a chance of thunderstorms developing in the afternoon.

Tonight there will be the opportunity to meet some of your sailing favourites at the Champagne G.H. Mumm bar, Cowes Yacht Haven. Or if you're feeling particularly strong this evening, the first heats of the 'Tow a Touareg' competition start at Shepards Wharf.
