Louis Vuitton - Finals Day 1
The first day of the finals.
Which boats will they use?
NZL92 and ITA94.
Have the boats been changed at all during the off period? According to Terry Hutchinson the Kiwis haven't changed their boat at all. The Italians haven't yet said.
A few hours later and the official notice came that both boats had new certificates. What teams say and do are sometimes quite different.
What does the weather have in store?
"Over the next few days we're looking at some form of sea breeze, around 9-14 knots but it won't be normal," said Luna Rossa tactician Andy Horton.
This, at least, would seem in line with what others expect.
Weather Friday 1 June 2007
Northeasterly gradient breeze early in the day gives way to a southeasterly sea breeze 12-14 knots during the afternoon. Overcast to start, then clearing later, dry.
Temperature 25 degrees.
