My mum is with me. Literally with me. She is stowed away by my bunk on Juno.

I have brought her ashes to sprinkle halfway across the Atlantic in accordance with family wishes.

Mrs Jean West. Wife to Jim. Mother to Dale, Gavin and Brendan died earlier this year, but made a big impact in life as politician, Major, campaigner, decorator and athlete. She lit up our lives and often did more for others than for herself.

Even though her mortal remains will be floating around the Atlantic, she will always be with us.
