A spectacular port and starboard incident at the TP52 MedCup regatta is caught on video

In the August issue of Performance World, John Doerr explains the rules around this double T-bone. Here’s the incident as it happened at the TP52 MedCup in Marseille.

It can happen to the best! The boats are approaching the windward mark and, as often happens, the boats on port need to thread their way through the line of starboard tack boats already on or just above the layline into the mark. An already complex situation becomes more so when a boat tacks onto starboard close to approaching port tack boats.
